By utilising the Hydrospeed Belly eyelet on all of our DTX minnows, you’re able to rig the DTX minnow with an assist hook, transforming them into an ideal lure for Marlin and Tuna. We’ve found this method allows for much cleaner hookups, no thrown lures, and the ability to add a whole new dimension to your trolling spread when chasing game-fish like Marlin, Bluefin Tuna, Yellowfin Tuna

Usually it’s difficult to use hard body minnows for chasing Marlin, but we have been using this method for a long time on our charter operation, and found the DTX Minnows are incredibly effective for Black Marlin, and also Striped Marlin when trolled in a mixed spread. Trolling a bibbed Minnow can often help bring fish up from deeper in the water column, that may have been missed using a traditional trolling spread set-up.

We recommend using BKK Heavy Jigging Assist hooks for this technique.
